Chérie: a partner broadcasting the event
RALLYE AÏCHA DES GAZELLES DU MAROC 2018
Once again this year, Chérie
is the exclusive radio partner of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc. In addition to being a Rallye partner for several years, the radio begins covering the event before it even starts. Every local station, of which there are about 40 across the whole of France, interviews the Gazelles from their region to get their impressions before the start.
Nadia Lorjoux, a journalist at the Chérie head office, takes over on location in Morocco. She covered the Rallye for the first time 10 years ago. “I was hooked by the event from the start. I love getting the Gazelles talking, letting their emotions out. They really enjoy sharing their adventure with someone on the outside.” On location, she broadcasts a segment every evening at 6:30 p.m. as well as a video module available on the website.
The journalist talks to the teams interviewed before the event and transmits the recordings to the local stations, which broadcast them until the end of the Rallye. “They are extraordinary women. With this rally, they return to a raw state and refocus on themselves.”
The Rallye is an adventure for Nadia as well, who is housed under the same conditions as the Gazelles. Sleeping in her tent, 4 o’clock wakeup call. She is no stranger to early mornings because she produces the early morning program in Paris and gets up every day at… 2:45 a.m.! “The only difference between myself and the Gazelles is that I have a driver and a GPS in the car, but I do have to shovel sometimes!”
Maybe one day she will trade in her microphone and become a Gazelle…
