The Gazelles have not been idle this Friday March 16, 2018 at the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice. With their technical, administrative and medical verifications completed, it is time to end the day with a group briefing.
Dominique Serra, founder and Director General of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc began by listing the 16 nationalities represented at this year’s Rallye, to thunderous applause.
Ludovic Taché, the Sport Director, reminded the competitors of certain rules and safety recommendations before touching on some of the challenges awaiting them in the desert. He concluded with an explanation of how the rankings are calculated.
Each Gazelles will now write her own history and make her contribution to the grand adventure. “I hope it will be thanks to me and not in spite of me!” jokes Dominique Serra. The Gazelles have already overcome the first challenge, that of getting here. Now it is time for adventure and pleasure! The opening ceremonies and official start will take place tomorrow, Saturday March 17, 2018, on the famous Promenade des Anglais.
