No technology during the Rallye
PROLOGUE, NEJJAKH-NEJJAKH
Time to get down to serious business! At the end of the Prologue on this Wednesday March 21, 2018, each team handed over their electronic devices to the organization. No more telephones, GPS, high-zoom reflex cameras, electronic compasses or iPods… Everything must be declared and relinquished until the end of the competition.
As a reminder, the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc requires old-school navigation using maps, compasses, plotters and rulers. For each leg, the teams receive a road book with the coordinates of the day’s checkpoints.
The Gazelles will get their material back at the end of the final leg on Thursday March 29. For the next week or so they will have no access to telecommunications. And beware to any teams who forget to hand in their equipment! Rally marshals are here to enforce compliance with the regulations, and the penalty can include being Excluded from the Rallye.
