The 165 teams in this 28^th edition have completed their administrative, technical and medical verifications. Everyone is ready to go! But first, a competition briefing. 79% of this year’s participants are doing the Rallye for the first time, so it essential to go over certain basic concepts and answer their last questions. Welcome to all the newcomers!

The rally’s sport director, Ludovic Taché, reminded the competitors of certain rules and safety recommendations before touching on some of the challenges awaiting them in the desert, the importance of the 5 o’clock briefing each morning, and a human touch: “As the years go by it just gets better and better.”

Rallye founder and director general Dominique Serra closed with: “You’ve done the hardest part. The rest is just adventure and pleasure…!” The adventure begins at 2 o’clock on Wednesday March 21 with a Prologue, a sort of warmup that does not count towards the rankings.
