“An adventure just for us!”

It was their passion for motorsports that convinced Amélie and Stéphanie to take part in this 28th edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc. The two 35-year-olds met through work while living 600 kilometres apart. For their first Rallye, the two opticians came up with one third of the budget, and their employers paid the rest.
The preparation wasn’t easy for Team 142 (Amélie CRIMETZ ZORDAN / Stephanie MARTINEU - AATHEX) because they decided to register just last June. “I’ve been wanting to do this rally for years,” explains Amélie. “With this adventure we’re looking to get away from our daily routine of work, husbands and children. This is an adventure just for us, to push our limits and experience something different,” adds Stéphanie.
With two children each, they admit that since becoming mothers, they think of others much more than themselves. They are not missing their children yet, but “I’m sure that will change once the problems start!” So no stress yet? “Tomorrow we have another day to relax; we’ll be well-rested, but we anticipate a real rush of adrenaline on the start line Wednesday.”
